Remarkably, there are three choice undeveloped acres located in the very heart of our MIU campus. This land, owned by our Trustee Emeritus Chris Hartnett, is the ideal location for a new student vastu residence hall.

The site has a slight elevation which affords panoramic views of our main campus to the west, a bird sanctuary and Bonnifield Lake to the east, and the Punj Tennis Courts to the south.

As a favor to the University, Chris bought this choice land in 1997 for $350,000. And as a second gesture of generosity, Chris is willing to sell it back to MIU today at a steeply discounted price.

It is vitally important that we commit to this purchase— otherwise this highly strategic parcel in the midst of our campus will go on the public market!
